Day 1 PMFood & Drink

Out to the Woods – Chapattis on the Chula

Start your stay in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with one of our delicious Chow Down experiences courtesy of Out to the Woods – Wood Fire Chapatis. 

Learn about traditional Indian cooking techniques and tools in Kent’s woodlands. You’ll follow ancient recipes to make delicious wood-fired chapatis and lentil dahl, as you take in the mindful surroundings of the woods.  

And if it’s pouring down – no worries! You will enjoy this woodland experience under shelter. 

It’s a gentle walk out to the woods, but sturdy walking shoes are still recommended, along with long-sleeved tops and long trousers.

Nu Plat Retreat

The Nut Plat Retreat (£££) is a holiday home from home for those who relish the idea of sleeping in the Great British Countryside in a bijou and boutique Living Vans or a bespoke secluded wood cabin. Each Living Van and Cabin is set in its own private space here in the beautiful Kent countryside. Visitors have their own separate kitchen, bathroom facilities, fire pit and a barbeque areas.

Hinoki Forest Bathing

There’s no better way to kick-start your day than with a Power Down experience with Hinoki Forest Bathing. You’ll escape on a sensory journey and take in the relaxing atmosphere of the trees to reconnect with nature.  

The session begins with a sunrise meditation to help you focus your mind and tune into your senses. It finishes with a Japanese-influenced woodland tea ceremony helping you to relax, destress and enhance your wellbeing.

Albury Vineyard or The Arbinger Hatch

Why not check out Albury Vineyard, a biodynamic vineyard – you can take a tour and sample the wine.  

 Or…If you’re feeling peckish after all that de-stressing then grab a bite at The Abinger Hatch, situated in beautiful woodlands.

Day 2 PMWalkingCycling

Perry Woods

Spend the day on an Adventure Down and take a trip to Perry Woods. Whatever the time of year, you’ll be captivated by the beauty of this remote rural haven where the rolling countryside is dotted with sleepy villages, historic churches and hop gardens. 

It is a perfect spot for exploring with your dog. There is also a great cycle trail if you have bought your bikes with you.
