An introduction to setting up and using your telescope
Have you got a brand new telescope? Or maybe you’ve rediscovered an old one tucked away in the attic – but you’re not sure how to get going with it. You’re not alone! Many people own a telescope but aren’t quite sure how to use it. With the right setup, your telescope becomes a window to the universe, opening up endless opportunities to learn and explore.
This hands-on evening workshop, led by the Edenbridge and District Astronomers will guide you through the basics of getting your telescope ready to observe the night sky. Bring your telescope (whether it’s in the box, or in multiple pieces!) and the team will help you get it set up ready to use. You’ll leave confident in your setup and inspired to discover what’s out there this year. The astronomers will also be on hand to advise if you feel a different set up might suit you better.
Bring your telescope and something to make notes. Please let us know the make and model of your telescope when booking.
Suitable for all levels, no previous experience or knowledge is necessary. Tea, coffee and squash will be provided.
