Geo-adventures: Geo-Futurists
The third event in a series of summer workshops to celebrate our landscape and local libraries. Suitable for all ages, free to attend, but booking is essential.
- 24 Aug 2023
- 10am - 1pm
- Lyminge
Come along to Lyminge Library and join in our final Geo-Adventure.
We will meet at the Library to begin our walk and explore the local landscape, following the route of a winterbourne chalk stream- one of the world’s rarest habitats! Where we will learn about the geology and how this helps to create this specialised habitat, with help from the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership‘s Folkestone Ranger.
Flowing with inspiration and ideas, we will return to the library to imagine what nature will look like in the future and create our own futuristic collages.
Then Ready, Set, Read, why not find a book within the library collection to help you continue to improve your nature knowledge and work towards the Summer Reading Challenge.
Lyminge Library has ramped access and automatic doors. The walking route will be through urban areas on pavements alongside and across roads, as well as on short grass and potentially uneven footpaths near water of the Nailbourne stream.
Please come prepared for the walk with appropriate clothing, footwear, water and snacks! And children will need to be accompanied by an adult throughout the workshop and walk.
Please note because of limited capacity, we please ask that tickets are booked for all children attending (but not required for accompanying adults).
