Geo-adventures: Create your very own Geopark Journal
The first event in a series of summer workshops to celebrate our landscape and local libraries. Suitable for all ages, free to attend, but booking is essential.
- 9 Aug 2023
- 10am - 1pm
- Folkestone
As future scientists and historians we need to keep good records of our adventures, research and discoveries.
Come along to make and decorate your very own Geopark Journal at our first Geo-Adventures summer workshop! You can then use this again in following workshops and throughout your summer to record your adventures and observations of the natural world.
Once we have made our journals we will then set off from Cheriton Library on a walk to explore the local landscape and learn more about the geology and biodiversity on the way, with help from the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership‘s Folkestone Ranger.
Then Ready, Set, Read, why not find a book within the library collection to help you continue to improve your nature knowledge and work towards the Summer Reading Challenge.
Cheriton Library is located on the first floor, there are automatic doors into the building and a lift to the first floor. The walking route will be in an urban area, mostly on pavements alongside and across roads, on short grass and potentially uneven footpaths.
Please come prepared for the walk with appropriate clothing, footwear, water and snacks! And children will please need to be accompanied by an adult throughout the workshop and walk.
Please note because of limited capacity, we please ask that tickets are booked for all children attending (but not required for accompanying adults).
