Take a self-guided walk celebrating 21st century art & architecture at this year’s Geopark Festival.
The CHALKUP21 coastal trail was imagined by Dover Arts Development to raise awareness of the fine examples that have been built along the Strait of Dover this century with an introduction text and individual structure texts from architect Charles Holland.
The nine CHALKUP21 structures are linked between Folkestone and Deal by two of the finest long-distance trails in England and Wales; North Downs Way and England Coast Path National Trail routes. These pass through the Kent Downs National Landscape and Cross-Channel Geopark, the chalk grassland of the North Downs escarpment and heritage coastline to the beach to Deal.
