As part of Dover Arts Development collaboration with the Geopark Festival, Richard Bundy will be sharing his unique practice in an Artist Talk.

Bundy will explore how the Earths seismic shifts from millions of years ago, can still create subtle vibrations that resonate through us today.

He will discuss how geological data can be transformed into sound through sonification, a method used by NASA and the British Geological Survey (BGS) to translate data into an audible form.

In this way vast epochs of geological time can be experienced sonically in a few moments, revealing audible patterns often missed by other practices and how the Earth’s movements shape who we are.

Richard Bundy’s creative work spans across disciplines including music, production, facilitation and woodwork. In December 2020 he became a DAD Guardian and in January 2024 a DAD Director.

Dover Arts Development (DAD) is a not for profit limited company that functions as a collaborative, flexible, framework within which its artist directors and guardian imagine, manage & deliver ambitious projects of artistic excellence within the visual arts, spoken word, written word, sound and architecture.
