Dover Walk – Cross Channel Geopark Festival

This special event celebrates the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Dover area, combining breathtaking landscapes with a journey through centuries of history and geology.

Route Information

• Distance: 13.6 km (8 miles)

• Terrain: Mixed, with some steep sections

• Type: Linear route (Dover Station is within walking distance of the castle)

The route begins with a climb up Coney Hill (125m above sea level), before joining stretches of the North Downs Way. From there, the walk continues through the impressive Western Heights fortifications and winds its way to Dover Castle, where the group will enjoy free entry to explore in the afternoon.

• Sturdy walking boots or shoes (no flip-flops)

• Waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers, if available)

• Drinking water and a packed lunch
