Covert and Covet Woods, Barham
Covert Wood has the Elham Valley Way winding through it, and there are a number of other public footpaths which go deeper into the wood. The woodland is full of dappled light that finds its way under the canopy of the mature trees and onto the forest floor. Covet Wood adjoins Covert Wood on the northern side of Green Hills, a lane that runs through both woods. The woods are popular with local dog walkers and provide a peaceful respite for visitors passing through.

Train – Canterbury has two train stations, running from Ramsgate and Margate to London stations. You can get a train from Canterbury to Barham.
Bus – Canterbury is on the bus line from Ashford.
This itinerary works best either by car or by bike. The distances can be walked, but it would make for a very long day. Bikes can be hired in Canterbury at Kent Cycle Hire. Once the bike has been collected, take the train from Canterbury to Barham.
