The Putting Down Routes team and our partners Black Girls Hike and Wild With Wheels are delighted to be offering a scenic walk in Kent.
Visiting the jewel in the Kent Downs National Landscape, the Wye Crown Memorial, we will be walking and wheeling along the newly resurfaced North Downs Way National trail, enjoying beautiful panoramic views across the landscape.
Please note that we offer a short linear route as well as an extended circular route, which also includes the Devil’s Kneading Trough.
The shorter linear return route is approximately 3 miles and the circular route is 7 miles which involves more challenging, uneven terrain with steep slopes.
The newly resurfaced path is suitable for wheeled equipment. However due to the gradient of the landscape, there is a steep section to access the path to the Wye Crown Memorial, as well as another steep gradient which replaces the steps.
This event is part of the North Downs Way National Trail and Kent Downs National Landscape’s Putting Down Routes Project. Working with partners Wild With Wheels and Black Girls Hike. This is funded through The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes.
