Boots On Adventures: North Downs Way Part 5: Oxted to Otford
The North Downs Way National Trail covers a total of 153 miles of outstanding natural beauty. The route starts in Farnham and finishing in the historic town of Dover. On every section of this awe-inspiring route, expect to see amazing views, an abundance of flora and fauna and history spanning from the Neolithic times. Part 5: Oxted to Otford

The 5th leg of our journey commences in the town of Oxted. Starting from the station, we ascend to the North Downs ridge, where we leisurely stroll along its expanse. Once atop the North Downs, the terrain levels out, offering splendid panoramic views across the valley. Our path follows the Vanguard valley, passing by a golf course and captivating landscapes. Abundant in flora, the route is adorned with natural beauty. The conclusion of our route awaits at Otford station.
During the weekends we are leaving accommodation open for you to choose something that suits your budget or there are trains returning to Oxted from Otford. As you book onto this walk you will be giving the option to join our WhatsApp lift share group to allow us to lift share between stops. We will also be letting you know our choice of accommodation (where applicable) should you wish to book where we are staying and join us.
Please let us know if you are running late or not attending otherwise the walk will leave on time.
We will be stopping for a bring your own picnic lunch at around mid-day.
Meeting time – 8:15am ready for a 08:30am prompt start (times might slightly change to accommodate train arrivals on the day)
Meeting location – Oxted train station (RH8 9EU) Finishing location – Otford train station (Station approach, TN14 5QY)
There is parking available at both stations (parking cost not included)
Walk type – Linear. Terrain – once on the North Downs the route is reasonably flat with a few inclines
