Camer Park Stile Free Trail
Our stile free routes are suitable for a wide range of users including those in mobility scooters and families with younger children.
At Explore Kent, we aim to provide detailed information about our routes to give you a clear idea of what to expect. Please be mindful that our stile free routes are located in the countryside and the path surfaces can be adversely affected by poor weather conditions. Certain routes may be better suited for wheelchairs with wider wheels, as they can handle the terrain more easily compared to other wheelchairs. We encourage you to read about the trails, and to assess them if you feel confident in completing them yourself.
If you would like more information on accessibility, please email explorekent@kent.gov.uk
Route information:
A linear walk of 1.25 miles (2km). The path surface across the park is short grass followed by a hardened surface with occasional stones up to 50mm.
Please note: the grass surface becomes very muddy and difficult to negotiate in wet weather, particularly in the winter months.
Camer Park, near Meopham, offers easy walking through more than 40 acres of mature parkland and woods, listed as an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
The park is known for its wildlife. Recently, special programmes have been set up to encourage several species, including slow worms and common lizards, to breed.
Visitors may be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the lizards basking in the sunshine. They are totally harmless.
The park is a popular place for families walking, playing and relaxing throughout the year and enjoying picnics in the summer and autumn.
The tree-lined parkland was once attached to an 18th century mansion, which is visible through the trees.
Camer Park was opened to the public in the early 1970s and is now a key starting point for walkers exploring the local countryside.
NB: Unfortunately the tree trail leaflet is no longer available as stated in the PDF download. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Walk ahead and continue through the trees to pass to the left of the fallen tree trunks. Continue ahead again into open grassland to pass to the left of the two lone standing tree trunks.
Continue ahead towards the trees to locate another green arrow under a tree to the left of the bench.
This way marker indicates a path leading through the trees to an accessible gate.
Go through the gate to reach the bridleway. Continue ahead bearing to the right towards a house, to reach a small pond and a low log seat. Here you can rest awhile before retracing your steps back to the car park.
