Moonlit Night Hike – Kings Wood (Challock)
Group Guided Walk

Overview:
Join us for a midwinter night hike through Kings Wood, Challock. This 5-mile guided walk takes place deep in the heart of winter, when the forest feels still and timeless. Walking by moonlight beneath bare branches, we’ll tune into the quiet beauty of the season, sharpen our senses, and experience the woods in an entirely new way.
Route Details:
After safety briefing we’ll follow a loop through well-maintained woodland paths, allowing our vision to adjust naturally to the low light.
Kings Wood is a haven for wildlife even in the coldest months. As we walk, we may hear the call of owls or the rustle of a fox passing through the undergrowth. Bats are sometimes seen circling silently overhead on milder nights, and the forest takes on a hushed, magical quality under moonlight.
Night hiking at this time of year offers a rare kind of peace. It’s a beautiful way to welcome the new year—quietly, reflectively, and outdoors.
This walk is ideal for anyone wanting to connect with nature in winter, try something new, or simply experience the woods under a moonlit sky.
