  • 10am - 4pm

Join farmer and pasture management specialist Tim Williams for a one day event at Nonington Farm and learn how you can graze for both soil health and profitability by reducing inputs and maximising pasture function.

Tim will explain the key principles of soil health and pasture management and how adaptive grazing improves soil function, leading to a more profitable and resilient farm business .

The morning session will be inside and address the following:

Grazing Management – understanding the technical side of grassland management, feed budgeting and rotation design based upon context.

Profitable Pasture Management – developing low, or no input, grazing systems and how they compare with conventional systems.

Herbal Ley Management – managing herbal leys for optimal soil health and animal performance.

Integrating Livestock into Arable Systems – addressing concerns for those not necessarily used to running livestock.

The afternoon session will be outside on the farm looking at livestock, herbal leys, permanent pastures and the results of a recent cover crop trial with Southern Water.

Lunch will be provided using locally sourced ingredients including Nonington Farms beef.
