Join our GeoAmbassadors for a session of writing in tune with the earth, with geologist Helen Nattrass and poet Victoria Field.

  • 1 Nov 2025
  • 10.30am-3.30pm
  • Canterbury

Over two, separate, two-hour sessions we will write to new prompts from rocks, fossils and earth processes to create our individual reflections on our planet, especially our local Transmanche Geopark area. We will read and respond to poems and prose on geological themes.

The event is open to all, and no previous writing experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate. The emphasis is on writing in the moment to capture our most vivid thoughts.

This is the 4th Geopoetry Day in Canterbury led by Helen and Victoria.

Sessions will be running at 10.30-12.30 and 1.30pm-3.30pm

Each session will have  different content. You can book for one or both.

Location Canterbury Library, Community Room, Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, 18 High Street Canterbury CT1 2RA

Age recommendation  18 +

Accessibility info – There is wheelchair access by lift to the Community Room. A hearing loop can be provided on request.
