Join Folkestone Museum for a week of summer family fun learning about geology.

Week four of the family holiday activities at Folkestone Museum is Geology week!

On the 12th of August and 14th August, they will be making geodes – rocks lined with crystals. Geodes form where there are air bubbles inside rocks. They often occur after volcanic eruptions create rocks.

Folkestone Museum will be joined by their friends Astrid and Craig from Folkestone Landmarks and Monuments Society (FLAMS) are back on the 13th of August with another craft activity all about the Folkestone Elephant.

On the 15th of August, join the museum to make your own fossil.

The Geology Week family activities are designed for children and young people under 13.

They will run four activity sessions a day at 10:30, 11:30, 13:30 and 14:30. When you arrive at the museum before your chosen session, please pick up your FREE timed ticket at the main reception desk!

Tickets are first come, first served on the day – no advance booking.
