Hollingbourne East Lost Landscapes walk
This 8 mile trail takes you through Eythorne Street, where you will learn about its industrial past, then up onto the downs, through ancient woodlands, and returning via the main village.
Along the trail you will pass locations linked, through folk stories, to Catherine Howard, Francis Drake and John Cade. The area has plenty of documented historical interest as well. With paper mills, manor houses and a Second World War ‘fox-hole’, you can bring the past to life.
The Hollingbourne Heritage Trails have been carefully designed to take in the best heritage features of the area. As you walk you will find that the history has been brought to life by the contributions of local people.
More information about the walk and a map and guide are available in the Lost Landscapes Heritage Trails Hollingbourne leaflet, which you can download to the right of this page.
This walk has been created by the North Downs Way National Trail Partnership and uses a section of the North Downs Way.
Please note Hollingbourne station diverted from crossing track to over the bridge.
