Ide Hill offers impressive views of the Kent Weald, an area of semi-natural woodland lying on the steep sides of the Greensand Ridge with connections with the artist Samuel Palmer.
The village is one of the highest points in the Kent Downs National Landscape, offering sweeping views across the surrounding countryside.
The woodland here lost over 70 per cent of its tree cover during the 1987 storm, however it has regenerated well and is now a designated as a Site of Special Interest due to the abundance of wildlife found here.
