  • Sevenoaks

The Putting Down Routes team and project partner Black Girls Hike invite you to join this super family fun walk at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve.

We will explore local wildlife, using binoculars and microscopic lenses to discover the wonders of nature up close.

This is a fantastic opportunity for families to connect with nature and each other. Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, just north of Sevenoaks, is a pioneering nature conservation site developed from a former gravel pit.

Owned by Tarmac and managed by Kent Wildlife Trust, it spans 73 hectares featuring five lakes, woodland, ponds, and reedbeds. The reserve is home to over 2,000 species, including birds, dragonflies, bats, and glow-worms. It offers a rich habitat for wildfowl, waders, and various birds throughout the year. The River Darent flows through the reserve, supporting diverse invertebrates and fish populations.

This event is part of the North Downs Way National Trail and Kent Downs National Landscape’s Putting Down Routes Project. Working with partners Wild With Wheels and Black Girls Hike. This is funded through The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes.
