Silverhand Estate
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Kent countryside, Silverhand Estate offers a stunning blend of natural beauty and rich heritage, with breathtaking views over the North Downs. Established in 2018, it is a working farm and vineyard renowned for its groundbreaking approach to English sparkling wine. With the UK’s largest single organic vineyard, spanning over 900 acres, Silverhand Estate became the first Carbon Negative vineyard in the UK in 2025, a distinction achieved without offsetting (as audited by the Carbon Farm Toolkit). The estate features a diverse landscape, from ancient woodlands and chalk grasslands to rare orchid banks and wildflower meadows. It’s also home to a small herd of longhorn cattle and over 450 rare breed sheep that graze between the vines, helping to manage ground vegetation. Recently, six wildlife towers were constructed to provide habitats for endangered birds and invertebrates, with several birds of prey already showing early interest.
