Travelling by Train 

The Kent Downs region is served by multiple train stations, providing convenient access for visitors. Southeastern Railway operates services between London and Kent, including high-speed routes from St Pancras International to stations such as Ashford International and other key locations. Travelling by Bus 

Regular bus services operate throughout the Kent Downs, connecting towns and villages to various natural attractions. For the latest timetables and routes, consider the following operators:

Travelling by Car 

The reserves are easily accessible via an extensive road network. However, to minimize environmental impact, we encourage the use of public transport or car-sharing when possible. 

Main Access Roads 

  • From London: Take the A2/M2 towards Gravesend or the Medway towns. 
  • From Maidstone: Use the A229 northbound. 
  • From Canterbury and Dover: Proceed via the M2 westbound, exiting at appropriate junctions for your destination. 

Parking 

Parking facilities are available at various locations within the reserve. For instance, Shorne Woods Country Park offers on-site parking and visitor amenities. Please verify parking availability and any associated fees before your visit. 

Travelling by Bike or On Foot 

The Kent Downs feature numerous cycling and walking routes, providing eco-friendly access to many areas.
