The North Downs Way National Trail covers a total of 153 miles of outstanding natural beauty. The route starts in Farnham and finishing in the historic town of Dover. On every section of this awe-inspiring route, expect to see amazing views, an abundance of flora and fauna and history spanning from the Neolithic times. Part 2: Guildford to Dorking

The next leg  of the North Downs Way Challenge begins in the town of Guildford, famed for its medieval castle.

Departing from the station, our path follows the course of the river Wey until we intersect with the North Downs Way. This scenic route guides us through the captivating countryside of the Surrey Hills, passing notable landmarks such as St. Martha’s Church, vineyards, remnants of a World War II home defence line, and intriguing sculptures scattered along the trail.

During the weekends we are leaving accommodation open for you to choose something that suits your budget or there are trains returning to Guildford from Dorking.

Meeting time – 8:15am ready for a 08:30am prompt start (times might slightly change to accommodate train arrivals time on the day)

Meeting location – Guildford train station GU1 4UT Finishing location – Dorking train station RH4 1TF

Parking – parking is available at Guildford and Dorking train station

Walk type – Linear. Terrain – some inclines Distance – approximately 16.5 miles / 26.5 km approx. (including to and from the stations).

Walking time – 7-8 hours walking (with a bring-your -own lunch stop)

Dogs are welcome if they are friendly and will go on a lead when required such as entering fields of livestock.
